Kalane Rampai has resigned as the Managing Director (MD) of Microsoft South Africa, the company announced on Tuesday.
Rampai, who took over the role in May 2023, has left to pursue another opportunity.
Lillian Barnard, the current president of Microsoft Africa and former MD of Microsoft South Africa, will serve as the interim MD until a permanent replacement is appointed.
“Lillian Barnard, current president of Microsoft Africa and previous MD for Microsoft South Africa, will take on the responsibility as interim MD until a successor is appointed,” the company stated.
Rampai’s tenure at Microsoft began as the public sector director before he succeeded Barnard as MD.
He previously held leadership roles at PwC, where he gained over 20 years of management consulting experience.
“Microsoft is grateful to Kalane for his contribution and wishes him well in his future endeavours,” the company added.
