Lillian Barnard, president of Microsoft Africa, has been appointed as the interim Managing Director (MD) of Microsoft South Africa following the resignation of Kalane Rampai.
The company announced on Tuesday that Barnard, who previously held the position of MD for Microsoft South Africa, will step in temporarily until a permanent successor is found.
Rampai, who assumed the role in May 2023 after Barnard’s promotion, stepped down to pursue other opportunities.
His departure marks the end of a brief tenure in which he led the company’s local operations after serving as the public sector director.
Microsoft expressed gratitude for Rampai’s contributions and wished him well in his future endeavours, while Barnard takes the helm once again to guide the company through the leadership transition.
