Ghana’s Prof. Robert Ebo Hinson ranked Africa’s Top Marketing Scholar Again

The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) has announced that Professor Robert Ebo Hinson has once again been ranked Africa’s Number One Marketing Scholar in the 2026 AD Scientific Index Rankings.

‎The recognition marks the fifth consecutive year Professor Hinson has secured the top continental position, reinforcing his growing reputation as one of Africa’s most influential voices in business and marketing scholarship.

‎The latest ranking also places him as Ghana’s leading Business and Management scholar.

‎‎According to CIMG, Professor Hinson’s sustained academic performance reflects not only scholarly excellence but also his ability to connect academic research with practical business application across Africa.

‎‎A Full Member of CIMG, Professor Hinson has built a distinguished career at the intersection of theory and industry practice, with his research influencing financial institutions, governments and multinational corporations across the continent.

‎His academic impact is reflected in a number of key achievements, including more than 8,700 Google Scholar citations, an H-index exceeding 50, over 150 peer-reviewed journal publications, and more than 45 authored and edited books.

‎‎He also serves as Lead Editor for several major SCOPUS-indexed international publication series, including the Palgrave Studies of Marketing in Emerging Economies.

‎‎CIMG noted that his continued success demonstrates that African scholars can attain global academic recognition while remaining deeply connected to the continent and its development priorities.

‎Beyond participating in marketing scholarship, the institute stated that Professor Hinson is helping to shape and define the modern history of the discipline in Africa.
