Boeing has been awarded a 49.5 million US dollar indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to remanufacture controllers for the United States’ Air-Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) programme, according to an announcement by the US Department of War.
The contract covers the remanufacture of ALCM controllers as well as the production of test sets required to sustain the missile system throughout its operational life.
The work will be carried out at Boeing facilities in Heath and Fort Walton Beach. The programme is scheduled for completion by 29 June 2033.
The contract was awarded on a sole-source basis, meaning no competitive bidding process was used.
At the time of the award, 2.87 million US dollars in fiscal year 2026 missile procurement funding was obligated to support the initial phase of the programme.
The contracting activity is the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Centre, based at Tinker Air Force Base. The contract has been assigned the reference number FA8128-26-D-B002.
The Air-Launched Cruise Missile remains a key component of the United States’ strategic deterrence capability, with periodic refurbishment programmes intended to maintain the reliability and operational readiness of the ageing weapons system.
