Oracle rises as Intel, Merck lead declines in Monday trading

Oracle shares rose 2.28% on Monday as stocks across various market capitalisation categories recorded mixed movements, with Intel and Merck among the major companies posting declines.

‎Oracle was the strongest performer among the listed mega-cap stocks, while Arm fell 0.97%, KLA-Tencor declined 1.5% and Intel dropped 2.07%. Merck recorded the largest decline in the mega-cap category, falling 3.58%.

‎‎Among large-cap stocks, PTC recorded the biggest gain, surging 34.6%. Cerebras Systems rose 9.22%, followed by Twist Bioscience at 6.49%, MercadoLibre at 6.16% and Seagate Technology at 4.84%.

‎‎The declines in the large-cap category were led by C H Robinson Worldwide, which fell 13.13%. Insmed declined 8.43%, while Chipotle Mexican Grill dropped 3.8%.

‎‎In the mid-cap category, Dlocal gained 8.11%, while Hyperliquid Strategies rose 7.57% and Recursion Pharmaceuticals increased 5.22%.

‎‎Madison Square Garden recorded the largest mid-cap decline, falling 9.6%, while Brinker International dropped 5.01%.

‎Small-cap stocks also saw significant movements, with Alvotech gaining 15.5%, Soaring Eagle Acquisition rising 11.82% and Armada Acquisition I increasing 9.22%.

‎Velo3D fell 19.74%, while HighCape Capital Acquisition declined 16.45%. Roze AI recorded a 38.69% decline, and NovaBay Pharmaceuticals posted the largest fall among the listed small-cap stocks, dropping 41.58%.

‎The movements reflected a mixed session across mega-cap, large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap stocks, with individual shares recording sharp gains and losses.
