Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swedish telecom giant Ericsson to create a 5G Innovation Lab, aimed at enhancing the nation’s digital infrastructure.

The agreement was announced during Vice President Kashim Shettima’s working visit to Sweden, where discussions focused on fostering bilateral ties in ICT, digitalization, and innovation.

Ericsson, a global leader in telecom technology, will help accelerate Nigeria’s telecommunications sector, enhancing internet speeds, connectivity, and cross-sector innovation.

The visit also included high-level talks with Swedish officials and discussions with venture capital firm Norrsken, which plans to invest heavily in Nigerian tech startups through its $205 million fund.
