SpaceX is continuing its retail push by expanding Starlink sales to Target.
A listing for SpaceX’s newest “V4” Starlink dish popped up on Target.com for $599, the standard price. Those who buy it can then activate their dish and sign up for a residential or roam plan.
Consumers spotted the Starlink listing on Target earlier this month, but it wasn’t clear if the sales were legit. At the time, the official Starlink.com site made no mention of Target being an official reseller for the satellite internet system.
SpaceX and Target didn’t comment on the sales when we reached out to them. But SpaceX has since updated Starlink.com to mention retail availability through Target.com.
SpaceX appears to be trying to attract more sales in the US. The satellite internet system has long been available on Starlink.com, but SpaceX has expanded sales through other US retailers including Best Buy, Home Depot and even temporarily at Costco, while also displaying Starlink ads on social media sites such as Twitter/X and Instagram.
Earlier this month, the company also began selling refurbished Starlink V4 dishes at a $200 discount in select US states. In Target’s case, the US retailer only plans on selling the V4 Starlink dish via Target.com and not at physical stores.
Currently, Starlink has over 2.7 million users, an increase from 2.2 million back in December.
