All is set for the gathering of the crème de la crème of the fintech industry at the 4th Ghana Fintech Awards today, March 1, 2025 at the plush Adesa Pavillion of Labadi Beach Hotel, where some 25 industry personalities and organizations will walk away with laurels amidst splendor and pageantry.
Simply put, anyone who matter in Ghana’s dynamic fintech industry, including industry leaders, innovators, regulators, policy makers, analysts and industry journalists is expected to be at the prestigious event where several deserving industry entities and personalities will be honoured.
The awards event, jointly organized by the Ghana Fintech and Payments Association (GFPA) and Arkel Limited, is powered by Huawei as the Headline Sponsor, with NiBS University, Ghana Stock Exchange, Bazara Tech, Nsuonam and among others as supporting sponsors.
The theme for this year’s Awards is “Building Trust in Ghana’s Digital Economy: The Essential Role of Cybersecurity and Data Privacy.”
At the 3rd edition of the awards last year, there were a total of 34 awards, out of which a wholly-owned Ghanaian complete ICT service provider, Broadspectrum Limited, took nine, include the topmost award – Fintech Company of the Year.
This year’s event will feature a total of 25 awards categories, recognizing and celebrating excellence across various facets of the fintech industry, including innovation, digital payments, financial inclusion, leadership, and overall industry impact.
Out of the 25 categories, 24 are competitive, while one is an honorary award which will be presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the growth of fintech in Ghana.
This year, over 300+ nominations were received across various categories, reflecting the growing impact and innovation within Ghana’s fintech space. All nominations have been subjected to a very rigorous selection process by leading audit firm, KPMG, to ensure that only the best contenders make it to the final stage.
Now the die is cast, as voting ended February 17, 2025. What is left is to wait and see who wins the prestigious “Fintech of The Year” and “Fintech Personality of The Year” awards.

Beside the awards, the event is also expected to feature an exciting line-up of special side attractions, making it an unforgettable experience beyond the awards ceremony.
The evening is expected to kick off with a glamorous red-carpet session and media interviews, providing industry leaders the opportunity to share insights and celebrate their achievements. Attendees will engage in interactive exhibition booths showcasing the latest innovations in digital finance. This part of the event will be carried live of GFPA YouTube channel, but the main awards ceremony will not be on YouTube.
The main highlight of the event will be a compelling stage play on cybersecurity, frauds, scams and data privacy related-issues creatively illustrating the importance of data protection and trust in Ghana’s digital economy.
There will also be a diverse range of live performances, including a special opera act, blending cultural and contemporary entertainment, plus, guests will also enjoy an exclusive VIP networking cocktail, fostering connections between fintech executives, investors, and policymakers.
The night is expected to end on a high note with an after-party to provide the perfect atmosphere for celebration and relaxation, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Some of the notable personalities and industry leaders who have graced this event since its inception include representatives from the Bank of Ghana, British High Commissioner to Ghana, Embassy of Suriname in Ghana, Africa Fintech Network, Ghana Association of Banks, Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) Limited, GHAMFIN, Global Policy House, International Trade Center (ITC), Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, among others.
