Producer of the award-winning drive-time show, Ekwanso DwooDwoo, on popular Accra-based radio station, Okay FM, Godwin Dogbey was adjudged the Best TV/Radio Producer of The Year at the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA this year.
Godwin fended off tough competition from five other top producers in the country – Mr Haglah, Mercy Bee, Ella Okuwendia, Philip Nai and Sandra Akakpo to win this well deserve laurel at the prestigious entertainment awards.
Despite receiving several nominations for various awards over the years, this is Godwin’s first award ever in the media space, even though he produces one of the most decorated and successful radio and TV personalities in the country, Abeiku “Santana” Aggrey.
An elated Godwin expressed his gratitude to God and all who have supported his journey thus far.
“I’ve always been the go-to guy in the back who pulls the strings to get things done so it’s really humbling to be celebrated openly on such a big stage.
“Again, this is an exciting moment for me as this is my first ever award in the industry,” he said.
Godwin quotes Proverbs 22:29 – “Do you see a man skilful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men,” acknowledging that hard work pays.
