The Group CEO of Ecobank, Jeremy Awori has said that the bank is very proud to have been part of the just ended 34th edition of the CAF African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023) held in Côte d’Ivoire.
The tournament, which had TotalEnergies has the headline sponsor, drew to a thrilling close on Sunday with the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire beating Nigeria 2-1 in the finals to win the cup for the third time.
Ecobank, the leading pan-African banking group, was a sponsor of the tournament ans also branded the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award, which went to Ronwen Williams of South Africa.

Jeremy Awori presented the Ronwen Williams with the prestigious Ecobank Best Goalkeeper Award. Williams’ remarkable performance, highlighted by a record-breaking feat of saving four penalties in a single game against Cape Verde, has solidified his place in African football history.
