Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey and Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings (MP), presided over the first ordinary session of the seventh parliament after the President of the Pan-African Parliament was granted leave by the House.
Taking the Chair, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings assured delegates from across Africa that the Parliament would continue to discharge its mandate in full compliance with its rules of procedure.
She reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to addressing all matters before the House in a transparent, orderly and impartial manner, stressing that parliamentary business would proceed without hindrance.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings also underscored the Parliament’s determination to uphold its legislative and oversight responsibilities, declaring that the House would not be “gagged” in carrying out its constitutional mandate.
Her remarks reaffirmed the Pan-African Parliament’s commitment to promoting accountability, democratic governance and effective representation in advancing the interests of the people of Africa.
