OpenAI Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser is leaving the artificial intelligence company less than a year after joining, in the latest senior executive departure as the firm prepares for a potential public listing.
OpenAI said on Thursday that Dresser was leaving to “pursue other opportunities”. Dali Rajic, the former president and chief operating officer of cybersecurity company Wiz, has been appointed as her replacement.
Dresser joined OpenAI in December after more than a decade as an executive at Salesforce. She assumed many of the responsibilities previously handled by Brad Lightcap in April, when he moved to a role focused on special projects.
In a LinkedIn post announcing her departure, Dresser described her time at OpenAI as an “incredible” opportunity and praised the company’s work with customers and its employees.
Her departure comes just days after Lightcap announced that he was also leaving OpenAI after eight years with the company. In a post on X, Lightcap said he planned to “start something new”.
Other senior executives have also recently left the company. Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s product and business chief, stepped down last month to focus on recovering from a severe exacerbation of a chronic illness, while three other executives departed in April.
The executive turnover comes as OpenAI moves towards a potential initial public offering. The company confidentially filed its IPO prospectus with the US Securities and Exchange Commission in June.
OpenAI completed a funding round in March that valued the company at $852 billion, underscoring the scale of investor interest in the artificial intelligence firm as it prepares for its next phase of growth.
