The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has concluded its four-day 2026 Mid-Year Performance Review and 2027 Strategic Planning and Budget Prioritisation Workshop, with a focus on strengthening implementation, accountability and coordination.

‎The workshop assessed the Ministry’s performance, identified implementation gaps and established strategic priorities to guide its work in 2027.

‎Discussions during the second, third and fourth days focused on identifying innovative and efficient ways of working, prioritising interventions, assessing resource requirements and strengthening coordination and accountability across the Ministry’s Departments, Directorates and Agencies.

‎‎Participants examined existing processes to identify areas that could be simplified, digitalised or redesigned. They also considered opportunities to strengthen partnerships and improve coordination across the Ministry.

‎‎The proposed interventions for 2027 were assessed based on their importance, expected impact, readiness for implementation, and equity and inclusion considerations.

‎The workshop also sought to translate the agreed priorities into clear deliverables and accountability arrangements, including expected results, targets, responsibilities, timelines and the resources required for implementation.

‎Closing the workshop, the Minister, Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, urged participants to ensure that the outcomes of the exercise translated into concrete action and measurable results.

‎‎She stressed that the Ministry’s work directly affects vulnerable groups and families, adding that its success must ultimately be reflected in how people experience care, protection, inclusion and social support.

‎Dr Naa Momo Lartey further emphasised the need for urgency in implementing the Ministry’s mandate and urged participants to maintain momentum and deliver on the Government’s overall reset agenda.

‎‎She called on participants to return to their respective areas of responsibility with renewed commitment to implementation, accountability and collective responsibility.

‎‎The outcomes of the four-day exercise are expected to inform the Ministry’s recovery actions for the remainder of 2026 and provide a basis for its strategic priorities, resource allocation and implementation plans for 2027.
