Eric Adjeyi, Sales Executive at SES, has highlighted the emergence of a new era of content distribution driven by multimodal networks, artificial intelligence (AI) optimisation and direct live delivery.

Speaking on the evolution of content distribution at the Broadcasters Convention 2026 in Accra, Mr Adjeyi said the industry had moved through several major technological stages, each changing how television and other content reached audiences.

‎‎He identified the broadcast era as the first major stage, when satellites enabled television to reach many countries.

‎‎This was followed by the digital compression era, which dramatically increased channel capacity while improving content quality.

‎Mr Adjeyi said the introduction of the internet brought another significant shift, with streaming emerging as a new way for audiences to consume content.

‎‎He noted that over the past decade, video, mail and cloud technology had increasingly converged, further changing the content distribution landscape.

‎According to Mr Adjeyi, the industry is now entering another phase, characterised by multimodal networks, AI optimisation and direct live delivery.

‎‎He said the latest developments represented the continuing evolution of content distribution as technology creates new ways of delivering and consuming content.
