Chinese artificial intelligence company Moonshot AI has completed its final private funding round at a valuation of approximately $50 billion and is planning an initial public offering (IPO) in Hong Kong in the first quarter of 2027, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.

‎The Beijing-based company has begun preparing to gauge investor interest, with preliminary meetings potentially starting as soon as this month, according to people familiar with the matter cited by Bloomberg.

‎‎Moonshot AI has gained significant attention this year among developers and investors following the performance of its Kimi K3 model, which was seen competing strongly with leading AI offerings from companies including Anthropic and OpenAI.

‎The startup is regarded as one of China’s most advanced generative AI developers.

‎‎Its planned Hong Kong listing comes as Chinese AI IPOs have become a major focus in 2026, following strong listings by several frontier AI laboratories and chipmakers.

‎‎If pursued as planned, the IPO would mark another significant step in Moonshot AI’s growth as it seeks to expand its position in China’s rapidly developing generative AI sector.
