The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to expanding digital inclusion, strengthening telecommunications infrastructure and improving access to digital skills training as part of Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.

‎‎He gave the assurance on Monday, October 12, 2026, during a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, at the start of a two-day working visit to the region.

‎‎The visit forms part of the Ministry’s nationwide oversight of telecommunications and digital inclusion infrastructure, with a focus on assessing progress on ongoing projects, identifying implementation gaps and determining the interventions needed to improve service delivery.

‎‎Mr George said the first day of the tour was expected to cover selected districts and municipalities, including the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kwadaso Municipality, Asokore Mampong Municipality and Afigya Kwabre North District, as well as the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

‎‎The working visit is intended to enable the Ministry to monitor the implementation of projects and identify areas requiring further attention to support improved telecommunications services and broader access to digital opportunities.
