CEO of Techgh24.com and multiple award-winning tech journalist, Samuel Dowuona has been nominated for special honors at this year’s Ghana Information Technology and Telecoms Awards (GITTA).
This would be the 11th edition of GITTA and Sammy will go on record as the first ever journalist to have been honored at the prestigious industry awards.
CEO of Instinct Wave, organizers of GITTA, Akin Naphtal cited Sammy’s consistency in supporting the tech industry with educative and inciteful articles for more than a decade as the reason for selecting him for honors this year.
Sammy Dowuona is a three-time Best Telecommunications Reporter at the Ghana Journalists Awards (GJAs) and also a one time Best Features Writer at the same awards. He is a Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) 1997 alumnus.
Sammy has gone on to carve a reputation for himself as a powerhouse when it comes to indepth knowledge of the telecoms and technology industry in Ghana and beyond.
Having worked with Ghana News Agency for over 12 years, with Multimedia for 10 years and with Black Volta Publications for over a year in editorial and managerial positions, he moved on and set up Techgh24.com as a platform to support the digital Ghana Agenda by telling the story of digital innovations from Ghana and also similar stories from around the world to help shape policy and in Ghana.
Techgh24.com is in its first year and it is already making waves in Ghana and elsewhere.
Sammy believes that with the support of industry players, Techgh24 will become the mouthpiece of the industry in driving friendly government policies and attracting investors to the country.
He expressed his profound gratitude to Instinct Wave for the honor done him in nominating him.
Meanwhile, several industry players and Captains are also up for awards at this year’s GITTA slated for tonight l, October 29, 2021 at the plush Movempick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
