Accenture and Google Cloud have expanded their partnership with a new global initiative to help enterprise customers deploy and scale agentic artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
The companies have established the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group, a new unit within the existing Accenture Google Business Group, to support customers deploying Google Cloud’s agentic AI platform.
The initiative will combine Accenture’s certified Gemini Enterprise specialists with dedicated Google Cloud engineering resources to help businesses move AI projects from experimentation into commercial production.
As part of the initiative, the companies plan to build a 1,000-person workforce of forward deployed engineers (FDEs) who will work directly with clients to plan and develop AI applications based on the Gemini Enterprise platform.
The new workforce will draw on Accenture’s existing base of nearly 50,000 Google Cloud-skilled personnel, which the companies intend to use to develop repeatable industry solutions, accelerate time-to-value and establish specialised capability centres for enterprise-wide AI integration.
The partnership comes as businesses increasingly look to agentic AI architectures, which use autonomous digital agents to automate complex, multi-step workflows.
Accenture chair and chief executive Julie Sweet said the business group would bring together advanced AI capabilities, data assets and industry expertise to help corporate customers achieve productivity and growth targets more quickly.
Google Cloud chief executive Thomas Kurian said deploying agentic AI had rapidly become a key priority for enterprise technology buyers seeking operational transformation.
The initiative also reflects a growing focus across the technology industry on deploying specialised engineering teams directly alongside enterprise customers to support AI implementation.
OpenAI has recently established a $10 billion joint venture with institutional investors to finance dedicated enterprise deployment teams, while Anthropic investors backed a $1.5 billion standalone venture focused on hands-on FDE capabilities for corporate deployments.
