The African University College of Communications (AUCC) is set to officially launch as a fully autonomous university under the new name of Africa University of Communications and Business (AUCB).
The school received a presidential charter from former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on December 19, 2024, giving it the autonomy to function as an independent degree-granting institution.
‎The transition is a “historic moment that redefines the future and strengthens its commitment to academic excellence, creativity, innovation, growth, and an expanded vision for higher education in Ghana and beyond,” according to a statement released by AUCB Vice Chancellor Prof. Abeku Blankson ahead of the grand launch.
