The African University College of Communications (AUCC) is set to officially launch as a fully autonomous university under the new name of Africa University of Communications and Business (AUCB).
The school received a presidential charter from former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on December 19, 2024, giving it the autonomy to function as an independent degree-granting institution.
The transition is a “historic moment that redefines the future and strengthens its commitment to academic excellence, creativity, innovation, growth, and an expanded vision for higher education in Ghana and beyond,” according to a statement released by AUCB Vice Chancellor Prof. Abeiku Blankson ahead of the grand launch.

The official launch of AUCB is set for February 13, 2025, at the Discovery House, Adabraka, with various celebratory events planned, including a photo exhibition, media engagements, alumni homecoming, and a thanksgiving service.
