Chief Executive Officer of EazzySocial, Gad Ocran has been adjudged Digital Marketing Personality of the Year at the maiden Foreign Investors Network (FIN) Awards in Accra Ghana.
The awards event formed part of the maiden Africa Cashless Payment Systems (ACPS) Conference, which saw industry players from various parts of the continent discussing how African can bridge borders via digitalization and facilitate intra-continental trade within the context of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
A total of 42 awards were won on the night by some 18 institutions and 20 personalities in the digital and cashless industry, as well as business leaders, regulators, policy makers and at least one journalist.
Gad Ocran was one of the deserving awardees selected for the honors based on his immense contribution to driving digitization and digital marketing literacy and adoption among SMEs in the country and beyond.
Indeed, he personally supports a minimum of 200 – 400 small businesses every month with free training workshops plus feeding and other logistics.
Additionally, his company, Eazzysocial, has trained over 2000 top businesses, organisations and professionals (The Parliament of Ghana, Embassy of Denmark, Mantrac, Castrol Oil, National Disaster Management Organization, Youth Employment Agency, Peduase Valley Resort etc.) on social media marketing and digital selling under his leadership and tutorship.
Gad is a digital business transformation executive with a key focus on growth, marketing, brand management, innovation, data and analytics, media, product management (agile, scrum…) and sales.
With close to a decade experience in digital marketing and transformation, Gad also has very rich experience across fintech, food/culinary, jobs, game/betting, e-commerce, telco, managed delivery service, health tech, insuretech, Svod and many more.
At a very young age, Gad broke several records in his chosen careers, and has therefore amassed a wealth of leadership and managerial experience driving the growth of digital products by being a manager and senior manager with major industry giants and global tech firms across the Africa Region.
The EazzySocial CEO led the business expansion and setup of a New York-based early-stage fintech startup in Ghana, acquiring large businesses from scratch, recruiting growth teams and expanding into different regions.
He contributed to the overall Go-To-Market and Growth Strategy for the largest subscription video-on-demand platform in Southeast Asia ‘iflix’ as part of their penetration into the Sub- Saharan African market.
Gad also led digital media transformation and drove a sustainable digital media revenue pathway for the first and largest private commercial media group in Ghana and one of the biggest in Africa, The Multimedia Group, during his tenure as the Group Head of Digital Strategy.
He became the first head of marketing for one of the largest and most funded Tech companies in Africa ‘mPharma’.
In the past, Gad has led the establishment of innovative tech startups in areas such as e-commerce, agri-tech and fintech. He has strong entrepreneurial acumen with the ability to launch and grow tech-enabled businesses from scratch with limited resources.
Also, as a respected and one of the most revered digital marketing executives in Ghana, he works as a facilitator of the executive social media course at Koforidua Technical University where he lectures on enterprise social media marketing.
Gad continues to lead the digital business transformation agenda for large and small organizations in Ghana and is recognized as a thought leader in Ghana.
According to Gad, by end of 2022, Eazzysocial would be providing free social media marketing and digital marketing training to 200,000 SMEs across Africa.
His prowess in digitization, digital marketing and the several other digital innovations relevant to businesses today is based on a solid academic foundation.
Gad holds an MSc. in Digital Marketing and Business Innovation from the Salford Business School, UK; a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing and Transformation – Digital Marketing Institute, UK; and a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Social Media Strategy – Syracuse University, New York.
He also holds certificates in Product Management and Leadership Certificate from Kellogg School of Management; Brand Leadership from Cornell University and he is currently an EMBA student in Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Ghana Business School.
