Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, HE Victor Emmanuel Smith, has been honoured for his contributions to politics and public service at the Millennium Excellence Awards USA in Washington, DC.
The prestigious ceremony, held at the Warner Theatre on September 29, 2026, brought together distinguished personalities from Ghana, the United States and beyond to recognise individuals whose contributions have advanced humanity and society across diverse fields.
Ambassador Smith received the honour with humility and renewed commitment to national service.
In his acceptance remarks, the Ambassador expressed appreciation to the Foundation, distinguished guests and His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
He reaffirmed his focus on partnerships, investment and opportunities capable of creating decent, well-paying jobs and improving lives.
“I accept it with humility and a renewed commitment to serve,” Ambassador Smith said, concluding with a prayer for the Asantehene and Ghana.
The ceremony also honoured renowned technology innovator Dr Victor Lawrence for his groundbreaking contributions to digital signal processing, high-speed internet and modern technologies that have impacted millions of users worldwide.
Ghana’s Minister for Tourism, Dzifa Gomashie, and Aide to President John Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, were among the guests who presented awards at the ceremony.
