MTN Ghana announces four-hour service disruption for systems upgrade

MTN Ghana has announced a four-hour disruption to all its services, including Mobile Money (MoMo), as the telecommunications company undertakes a planned systems upgrade.

‎The disruption is scheduled to take place from 12:00 am to 4:00 am on Thursday, 13 August 2026, according to a communiqué issued by the company.

‎‎MTN Ghana said the upgrade forms part of efforts to enhance service delivery.

‎‎“We will be undertaking a planned systems upgrade to enhance service delivery,” the company said in the notice.

‎‎It advised customers to take note of the scheduled downtime, which will affect all services during the four-hour period.

‎The company apologised for any inconvenience the temporary disruption may cause and thanked customers for their understanding.

‎‎The upgrade is expected to restore normal service operations after 4:00 am on Thursday.
