A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Miracle Encounter Outreach Ministries has donated medical equipment and consumables worth $5,000 to the Paediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH).

The items include wheel chairs, syringes, gauze bandages, a pulse oximeter, adult diapers, gloves, a television set, drinks, breast feeding bags, COVID-19 kits and more.

The Founder and Leader of Miracle Encounter Outreach Ministries, Rev. Nathaniel Osei who presented the items said the donation forms part of their humanitarian service to show love to children.

According to him, the work of God is not just about preaching the gospel, but also showing love to people, and he believes the items will help reduce the burden on the unit.

Rev. Nathaniel Osei said the ministry has been in a existence for over 15 years and they also extend their charity to other countries like South Africa, Pakistan, Ivory Coast, Kenya and others.

In addition to the donation at Korle Bu, the ministry also visited Motherly Love Orphanage at Kwabenya in Accra, where they presented assorted food items, clothing and toiletries and more.

Rev. Nathaniel Osei used the occasion to urge Ghanaians to show love to their neighbours as “we are in February, the month of love.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Catherine Aduku, who received the item of the Korle Bu Paediatric Oncology Unit, expressed her heart felt gratitude to the NGO for their humanitarian service and love shown to the unit.

She said several parents who bring their children to the unit with terminal diseases like cancer, are unable to fund medical care for their children, so the unit is in dire need of support to assist in caring for such children.

Dr. Aduku therefore called on other NGOs, individuals as well as public and private institutions to emulate the example of the Miracle Outreach Ministries and extend support to the unit to provide proper care to the sick children.

She stated the childhood cancer can be cured if the cases are reported on time and the proper care is provided to the kids.
