The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has announced an Early Market Engagement (EME) exercise on the proposed Ghana Electronic Document Wallet (GEDW) Ecosystem, inviting stakeholders from across the public and private sectors to participate in discussions on the transformative national digital initiative.
‎‎The virtual engagement is scheduled to take place on Thursday 25 June 2026 at 10:00 GMT and is expected to bring together technology providers, government institutions, private sector organisations, development partners and other interested stakeholders.
‎‎According to NITA, the Ghana Electronic Document Wallet is a strategic national project aimed at revolutionising the way citizens, businesses and institutions receive, store, share and verify official digital documents.
‎‎The initiative seeks to establish a secure and trusted digital infrastructure that will enhance the management and exchange of official records while promoting efficiency, transparency and convenience in service delivery across the country.
‎‎The Early Market Engagement will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of the vision behind the project, its proposed architecture, implementation strategy and the regulatory framework that will guide its deployment.
‎NITA noted that the engagement forms an important part of the development process, creating an opportunity for stakeholders to offer feedback, share expertise and contribute ideas that will help shape the design and successful implementation of the ecosystem.
‎The Agency emphasised that collaboration with industry players and key stakeholders is critical to ensuring that the Ghana Electronic Document Wallet meets international standards for security, interoperability and user trust, while addressing the specific needs of Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
‎The engagement is expected to generate valuable insights that will inform the next phases of the project and support the development of an innovative digital document ecosystem capable of serving citizens, businesses and government institutions efficiently.
‎‎Interested participants are encouraged to join the virtual session and contribute to discussions on what is expected to become a cornerstone of Ghana’s emerging digital public infrastructure.
