The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has announced that the 2026 National ICT Week Celebration will take place from August 17 to 20, bringing together innovators, investors, technology companies, policymakers, researchers and development partners to accelerate Ghana’s digital transformation and position the country as a leading technology hub in Africa.
Launching the event in Accra, the Acting Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Yaw Amoah-Yeboah, described the four-day celebration as a strategic national platform aimed at fostering innovation, attracting investment, creating jobs and strengthening Ghana’s growing digital ecosystem.
According to him, National ICT Week goes beyond being a technology event, serving instead as a catalyst for collaboration that will connect government, industry, academia, startups and investors to develop practical solutions for the country’s digital future.
“I am pleased to announce that the 2026 National ICT Week will take place from 17th to 20th August 2026. Over four exciting days, Ghana will become the meeting place for innovators, investors, policymakers, technology companies, startups, researchers, students and development partners,” he said.
Mr Amoah-Yeboah disclosed that this year’s celebration will feature a major technology exhibition showcasing some of Ghana’s most innovative digital solutions, alongside high-level discussions on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital finance, digital trust and national digital sovereignty.
He said the programme would also include executive dialogues bringing together policymakers and industry leaders, while startups would have opportunities to pitch their ideas to investors and forge strategic partnerships capable of driving business growth.
“Our objective is clear: to move from conversations to collaboration and from collaboration to concrete action,” he stated.
The Acting Director-General stressed that National ICT Week is designed for all Ghanaians, regardless of their profession or industry.
“It is an event for every entrepreneur looking for new markets, every student preparing for tomorrow’s jobs, every investor seeking emerging opportunities, every institution embracing digital transformation and every innovator with a solution waiting to change lives,” he said.
He encouraged technology companies to use the platform to showcase Ghanaian innovation, urged startups to leverage the event to secure investment and strategic partnerships, and called on universities and research institutions to contribute ideas capable of shaping national digital policy.
Mr Amoah-Yeboah further appealed to corporate organisations and development partners to increase investment in Ghana’s digital economy, describing innovation as one of the country’s greatest opportunities for sustainable economic growth.
He noted that the true impact of National ICT Week would not be measured by attendance alone but by the partnerships established, investments attracted and innovations developed long after the event.
“If, after this launch, young people begin building new ideas, if businesses begin investing in technology, if investors begin looking at Ghana differently, if partnerships are formed that create jobs and transform lives, then National ICT Week will already have achieved its purpose,” he said.
Mr Amoah-Yeboah concluded by inviting entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, students and institutions across the country to participate in the four-day celebration and contribute to shaping Ghana’s digital future.
“Come and discover new technologies. Come and build new partnerships. Come and invest in new opportunities. Come and help shape Ghana’s digital future,” he urged.
