The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has summoned senior Medical Officer Dr Mockshell Esinam Sunu over an alleged unearned salary of GH¢341,229 received between September 2023 and August 2025.
Dr Sunu, who served at Takoradi Hospital, is alleged to have continued receiving salaries despite failing to travel to Germany for an approved study leave with pay.
PAC Chair Abena Osei Asare directed the Ministry of Health to engage the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) to facilitate Dr Sunu’s appearance before the Committee.
The Committee is seeking to question the medical officer over the alleged infraction, which relates to salary payments made during the period he was expected to undertake his studies in Germany.
Dr Sunu is expected to appear before the Committee to respond to questions concerning the GH¢341,229 in salaries he allegedly received.
