Sam Nartey George to present laptops to University of Ghana under One Million Coders Programme

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon Samuel Nartey George (MP), will present laptops to the University of Ghana as part of efforts to support the government’s One Million Coders Programme.

‎The presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 28th July 2026, at the University of Ghana, with proceedings expected to begin at 3:00 pm prompt.

‎‎The initiative forms part of the government’s broader commitment to expanding digital skills development and equipping young people with the necessary tools to participate in the digital economy.

‎‎The One Million Coders Programme is aimed at training and empowering a new generation of technology professionals by providing young Ghanaians with coding skills and digital competencies required for emerging opportunities in the technology sector.

‎‎The provision of laptops to the University of Ghana is expected to enhance students’ access to digital learning resources, support practical training and strengthen capacity-building efforts in technology-related fields.

‎The intervention reflects the Ministry’s commitment to promoting digital inclusion, innovation and the development of a skilled workforce capable of driving Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
