Paul Edward List, an Australian national, and CEO of BCM Ghana, is embroiled in a legal saga as he is alleged to have pulled a gun in public and threatened to shoot a Ghanaian citizen.

The threat to a person’s life charge slapped on Mr List follows a report made against him at a Police Station in Accra after he pulled on the complainant at Vanguard Heights Apartments in Cantonments, Accra.

A video gone viral on social media (particularly on X) showed a group of Ghanaians having a chat on the compound of the apartments building, then a white SUV drove in. The suspect then emerged from the car with a gun and pointed it at one of the people chatting, allegedly threatening to shoot him.

The video which was posted by one Michael Truth was captioned, “Watch one Paul E. List pull a gun on a Ghanaian. Am shocked and cannot understand. Case No. D7/25/22 in Circuit Court, Accra.” With the social handle being @MTruth77

It is still not clear what the victim of the threat did to the suspect to warrant being threatened with a gun.

Meanwhile, in the video, the other Ghanaians who were chatting with the victim before the suspect arrived in his white SUV, were seen  encouraging the suspect and asking the victim to follow his orders. These include persons suspected to be security men at Vanguard Heights Apartments’ building.

Paul Edward List is said to have been previously reported to police for assaulting some workers of his and even stripping one  person completely naked because he suspected the person have stolen his GHS300.

Information reaching Techfocus24 indicate that it has been more than a week now since Paul Edward List was invited by the police in relationship to the gun incident but he has refused to go and his lawyers are protecting him.

Meanwhile, the management of Vanguard Heights were also said to have initially refused to cooperate with the police, but the police had to push harder to get a copy of the footage showing the gun incident.

The Police has since arrested the suspect, confiscated the gun and proceeded to court on the back of the video evidence.

The Accra Circuit Court, where the case was sent presided over by Judge Adelaide Abui Keddey has determined a prima facie case against Mr List, but his lawyers have signalled challenging the case, despite the overwhelming evidence.
