Zeepay assures stakeholders of orderly transition after BoG revokes DEMI licence

Zeepay Ghana Limited has assured customers, partners and the general public that it is working closely with the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and other relevant stakeholders to ensure an orderly and transparent process following the revocation of its Dedicated Electronic Money Issuer (DEMI) licence.

‎‎In a public statement issued after the central bank’s announcement, the company said it remained committed to supporting all stakeholders throughout the transition.

‎‎Zeepay acknowledged that the decision could raise concerns among its customers, employees, agents, merchants and business partners, and thanked them for their patience, understanding and continued cooperation.

‎‎The company said it would continue to act responsibly, maintain open and transparent communication, and engage constructively with the Bank of Ghana and other stakeholders to facilitate an orderly resolution.

‎‎Zeepay also assured the public that it would provide verified updates through its official communication channels as more information becomes available.

‎‎The Bank of Ghana recently revoked Zeepay Ghana Limited’s Dedicated Electronic Money Issuer licence, prompting the company to begin engagements with the regulator on the next steps. However, Zeepay did not provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the revocation in its statement.
