Google Wallet introduces parental controls for kids’ payments

Google Wallet has launched a new feature that allows parents to monitor and control their children’s digital payments on Android devices.

The update enables kids to securely tap to pay in stores while ensuring financial activities remain supervised.

Through Google Family Link, parents can:

  • Approve or deny payment card additions to their child’s wallet.
  • Receive email notifications for every transaction.
  • Track recent purchases.
  • Remove payment cards and restrict access to certain passes.

The feature is rolling out gradually across the U.S., U.K., Australia, Spain, and Poland and is available immediately on the new Pixel 9a smartphone.

Google’s move aligns with industry trends, as competitors like Apple and Venmo also offer family-friendly financial tools.
