MTN Ghana has announced that disruptions to internet and connectivity services are being experienced following damage to undersea communication cables off the coast of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

‎‎In a statement issued to customers, the telecommunications provider said the cable cuts are affecting connectivity and internet services not only in Ghana but also in several countries across the West African subregion.

‎‎The company said it is working closely with its international partners to restore normal services as quickly as possible.

‎‎”We are actively engaging our international partners to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” MTN Ghana said in the statement.

‎The disruption is expected to impact internet access and the quality of data services for customers until repairs to the affected submarine cables are completed.

‎‎MTN Ghana apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured customers that efforts are underway to minimise the impact and restore full connectivity at the earliest opportunity.

‎‎The company urged customers to remain patient while engineers and international network partners work to resolve the outage.
