Legal practitioner Kwesi Botchway Jnr says he will subject the prosecution’s evidence in the Adu Boahene case to close scrutiny, witness by witness, using excerpts from the court proceedings to support every assertion.
In a communiqué titled “The Adu Boahene Case: Follow the Evidence Series”, Mr Botchway said the exercise would serialise the testimony of each prosecution witness and examine the prosecution’s case strictly on the evidence presented in court.
“No speculation. No propaganda. Just the evidence,” he said.
He said relevant portions of the proceedings would be attached to each assertion, allowing the public to read the evidence for themselves and draw their own conclusions.
Mr Botchway also challenged the prosecution to substantiate its allegations with credible evidence, emphasising that allegations should not be accepted as proof simply because they have been made.
“When the prosecution speaks, let them show the evidence upon which their allegations are founded,” he said.
He urged the public to demand proof and excerpts of the proceedings whenever allegations are made, saying the focus of the series would remain on the evidence before the court.
