Advans Ghana Savings and Loans is leading efforts in economic empowerment with a forward-looking capacity-building initiative dubbed the SME Growth Clinic.

The one-day workshop was held at the Golden Bean Hotel in Kumasi recently to train both clients and prospects in Kumasi, equipping businesses with the skills, resources, and financial literacy required to thrive in today’s competitive economy.

The initiative underscores Advans Ghana’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and sustainable development by supporting key sectors of the Ghanaian economy.

It brought together more than 80 SME clients and prospects from the Kumasi branches to bridge knowledge gaps, strengthen business practices, and create pathways for growth. Participants gained practical tools, expert-led insights, and peer-to-peer networking opportunities.

The sessions covered three critical areas:

  • Financial Management & Access to Credit: Simple bookkeeping practices to help entrepreneurs track cash flow, control expenses, and make informed business decisions.
  • Business Growth Strategies: Insights on seasonality in business and the importance of diversifying strategically during low-sales periods, while exploring relevant, high-demand opportunities.
  • Digital Transactions and Credit Readiness: The value of financial tracking tools, with a special focus on the My Advans Mobile App and its benefits for SMEs.

Speaking at the event, CEO/MD Guillaume Valence emphasized the importance of vision in every business, highlighting that SMEs need more than just banking services—they need a financial partner. ‘Advans Ghana is not just a bank but a financial partner for SMEs’, he affirmed.

Beyond training, the SME Clinic fostered collaboration, resource-sharing, and networking, enabling businesses to scale, sustain long-term growth, and contribute more meaningfully to Ghana’s economy. The event reaffirmed Advans Ghana’s unwavering commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, promoting financial inclusion, and supporting sustainable business practices across the country.
