The Bank of Ghana has launched the Monetary Policy Committee Educational Observership Programme (MPC-EOP) as part of efforts to deepen public understanding of monetary policy and strengthen engagement with future economic professionals.

The inaugural programme welcomed 12 students from the University of Ghana Business School to observe the 131st Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Meetings, providing them with firsthand exposure to the processes involved in monetary policy formulation.

‎‎The MPC-EOP is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical policymaking by allowing students to gain insights into the work of the MPC, including discussions and considerations that inform key monetary policy decisions.

‎The initiative forms part of the Bank of Ghana’s broader commitment to improving transparency, promoting financial literacy and enhancing understanding of the role of monetary policy in economic management.

‎‎Through the programme, future economists and business leaders will have the opportunity to appreciate the complexities of central banking and the importance of evidence-based decisions in maintaining economic stability.
