Construction of the Dambai Bridge is progressing slightly ahead of schedule, with physical works reaching six per cent completion by the end of June 2026, Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has announced.
Presenting the 2026 Mid-Year Fiscal Policy Review to Parliament on the authority of President John Dramani Mahama, Dr Forson said the project remains a key component of the Government’s efforts to improve transport infrastructure and strengthen connectivity along the Eastern Corridor.
He said the Dambai Bridge will provide a permanent crossing between Dambai and Dodoikope, replacing reliance on existing crossing arrangements and facilitating the movement of people and goods within the area.
According to the Finance Minister, the project comprises a 1.49-kilometre bridge and approximately 6.8 kilometres of approach roads.
Dr Forson noted that, as of the end of June 2026, construction had attained six per cent physical progress, marginally ahead of schedule. He added that foundation works had commenced, while construction of the temporary bridge was already underway.
The Government expects the project to enhance regional connectivity, improve transport efficiency and support economic activity along the Eastern Corridor upon completion.
