Ecobank Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to combating financial crime and protecting customers through enhanced collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
The bank recently paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the CID, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, to express its appreciation for the strong partnership and cooperation between the two institutions in the fight against fraud and other financial crimes.
According to Ecobank Ghana, the engagement served as an opportunity to strengthen existing ties and explore ways of deepening collaboration to address the growing threat of fraud and social engineering schemes targeting customers and financial institutions.
The discussions focused on promoting safer digital transactions and reinforcing preventive measures aimed at protecting consumers and preserving confidence in Ghana’s financial system.
Ecobank noted that as financial crimes continue to evolve in complexity and sophistication, closer cooperation between banks and law enforcement agencies has become increasingly important. Such partnerships, the bank said, are essential for strengthening trust, enhancing customer confidence, and ensuring the resilience of the country’s financial ecosystem.
