Former Apple CFO Luca Maestri has stepped down from his corporate services role, marking another senior leadership departure as new CEO John Ternus reshapes the company’s top ranks.
Bloomberg reported that Maestri left his position as Apple’s vice president for corporate services in recent weeks and no longer has formal responsibilities at the company beyond teaching a class at Apple University, Apple’s internal leadership training programme.
Maestri assumed the corporate services role in late 2024, with responsibility for information systems and technology, information security and corporate properties.
His corporate responsibilities have apparently been transferred to Kevan Parekh, who succeeded him as Apple’s CFO. Maestri did not report directly to Ternus.
Parekh, Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan and services chief Eddy Cue are taking on larger and more influential roles as Ternus establishes his leadership team.
The changes extend beyond Maestri. Apple separately announced that former marketing chief Phil Schiller is relinquishing his reduced responsibilities as an Apple Fellow overseeing the App Store.
Cue has taken charge of the App Store and Apple Arcade, while Schiller’s former responsibility for leading product events has moved to the communications department.
Apple’s head of mergers and acquisitions, Adrian Perica, also does not appear in the company’s latest leadership information. Bloomberg reported that Perica could be removed from reporting directly to Ternus, with his responsibilities potentially divided between the services and finance teams.
The leadership changes come as Ternus formally takes over as Apple CEO from Tim Cook after Cook’s 15-year tenure.
Apple hosted an event at its headquarters on 1 September to formally introduce Ternus as CEO and mark Cook’s transition out of the role.
Cook will now serve as executive chair, focusing on policy engagement and board-level responsibilities.
