Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited (GWL), Adam Mutawakilu has underscored the importance of the Wenchi Water Project to resolving long-standing water supply issues in that area, and expressed his satisfaction with the speed of work on its construction.
He made the remarks during a visit to the project site as part of his working tour to the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Region to evaluate the company’s operational performance and important infrastructure projects.

The project’s goals are to increase access to clean drinking water, lessen supply disruptions and enhance the municipality’s overall service delivery.
When finished, the Wenchi Water Project is expected to significantly increase water production and distribution at Wenchi and its environs, guaranteeing a steady and sustainable supply to satisfy rising demand.
Adam Mutawakilu pointed out that GWL’s mission to provide a sufficient and reliable water supply throughout the nation still revolves around investments in vital infrastructure, such as the Wenchi project.
He stressed the need for ongoing water projects to be done with speed in order to help communities and promote socioeconomic development.
The GWL MD noted that the company’s capacity to grow and maintain service delivery was hampered by illegal connections, meter bypassing and customer misclassification, which affects revenue mobilisation.
He therefore called for public support to protect water infrastructure and deal with issues that compromise service delivery.
