Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has inaugurated the Board of Directors of G-Water Bottling Limited, charging members to transform the company into one of Ghana’s most visible, trusted and commercially successful bottled water brands.
The inauguration forms part of Ghana Water’s broader strategy to diversify its revenue streams, strengthen business operations and create sustainable value through investments beyond its core mandate of potable water production and distribution.
G-Water Bottling Limited, a subsidiary of Ghana Water Limited, was established to manufacture, package and distribute safe, high-quality drinking water while operating on sound commercial principles.
The newly inaugurated Board comprises Mr Agbesi Nutsu as Chairperson, Dr Hadisu Alhasan as Executive Director, Mr Sulemana Alhassan Alancash and Mr Joseph Zefo Kero as Non-Executive Directors, and Madam Innocentia Kuupiel as Chief Executive Officer.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghana Water Limited, Mr Eric J. Biliguo, described G-Water Bottling Limited as a key pillar in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
According to him, the G-Water brand has already gained significant public goodwill due to its quality, purity and taste. However, he noted that the brand has not yet realised its full commercial potential because of limited market availability.
Mr Biliguo expressed confidence that with the right leadership and strategic direction, the company would expand its market presence and strengthen its position within Ghana’s highly competitive bottled water industry.
The Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Mr Adam Mutawakilu, said the establishment of G-Water Bottling Limited presents an opportunity for the company to leverage its expertise in water production and quality assurance to compete effectively in the bottled water market.
He stated that the subsidiary is expected to generate additional revenue for Ghana Water, strengthen the company’s brand, create employment opportunities and contribute to national economic development.
Mr Mutawakilu further emphasised the importance of innovation, operational efficiency and effective governance in ensuring the success of the venture.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of G-Water Bottling Limited, Mr Agbesi Nutsu, pledged the Board’s commitment to providing strategic leadership and effective oversight to drive the company’s growth and sustainability.
He said the Board recognised that G-Water Bottling Limited had been established not merely as a commercial enterprise but as a strategic subsidiary of Ghana Water Limited with the responsibility of manufacturing, packaging and distributing safe, reliable and high-quality drinking water.
Mr Nutsu assured stakeholders that the Board would work closely with management to build a strong and competitive brand capable of meeting consumer expectations while contributing to the long-term objectives of Ghana Water Limited.
The inauguration of the Board is expected to mark a new phase in the growth of G-Water Bottling Limited as it seeks to expand its reach, increase market penetration and establish itself as a leading player in Ghana’s bottled water industry.
