The One Million Coders Programme (OMCP) has commenced a five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme in Datacom and Access Network Technologies, delivered by certified technical experts from Huawei Technologies.
The training, which began on Monday, 31 August 2026, at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE), combines expert-led lectures with hands-on practical sessions and competency assessments.
The programme, organised by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI) through the OMCP, will run until Friday, 4 September, with sessions held daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Participants are undergoing intensive training in key areas of Datacom and Access Network Technologies as part of efforts to develop a pool of skilled ICT trainers who can extend practical digital and networking skills to citizens across the country.
Those who successfully complete the programme are expected to serve as certified OMCP trainers and train at least 20 members of the public using the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme.
The initiative is expected to strengthen Ghana’s digital skills ecosystem and support efforts to equip citizens with technological competencies for the evolving digital economy.
The One Million Coders Programme is a national initiative focused on developing a digitally skilled workforce and positioning Ghana to benefit from opportunities in the technology sector.
