President-elect John Dramani Mahama has named Julius Debrah as Chief of Staff at the Presidency, a position he held in Mahama’s previous government.
This was part of seven key appointments to the Office of the President announced through a statement dated January 6, 2025, and signed by an aide to the President-elect, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Per the statement, other appointments by the President-elect are as follows:
- Dr. Callistus Mahama – Executive Secretary to the President
- Prosper Douglas Bani – Head of Interim Security Taskforce
- Dr. Valerie Sawyerr – Senior Presidential Advisor, Governmental Affairs
- Augustus Goosie Tanoh – Presidential Advisor, Responsible for 24-hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development
- Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew – Legal Counsel to the President and
- Felix Kwakye Ofosu – Acting Spokesperson to the President.
According to the statement, all of the new appointments take effect from Tuesday, January 7 after John Mahama is sworn in as President.
