Telecel Group has stated that it as no affiliation what-so-ever with Telecel Zimbabwe.
A statement from the Telecel Group said this is to clarify recent public confusion arising from media reports regarding Telecel Zimbabwe’s financial and operational issues.
The reports suggested that Telecel Zimbabwe is a subsidiary of Telecel Group, but the company said that is not the case.
“Telecel Group confirms that it has no affiliation, ownership interest, operational involvement, management relationship, or financial connection whatsoever with Telecel Zimbabwe,” it said. “Recent reports concerning the financial and operational issues of Telecel Zimbabwe relate exclusively to that entity and should not be associated with Telecel Group, its subsidiaries, affiliates, operations, or investments.”
The statement said Telecel Group currently operates and manages a diversified portfolio of telecommunications, technology, enterprise, and digital infrastructure businesses across multiple jurisdictions, and continues to pursue its strategic growth and investment plans across Africa and international markets.
It therefore appealed to the media, partners, and the public to distinguish between Telecel Zimbabwe and Telecel Group in order to avoid misinformation or reputational confusion.
