Andrew Tulloch, AI researcher leaves Meta

Meta AI researcher Andrew Tulloch is leaving the company after the launch of its latest artificial intelligence products, according to Semafor, which cited a person briefed on the matter.

‎‎Tulloch delayed his departure until Meta successfully launched its new family of open-source AI models and its AI assistant, Muse, which was announced on Tuesday.

‎‎He joined Meta from Thinking Machine Labs and worked in the company’s TBD lab, which is at the centre of Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg’s AI strategy.

‎‎The lab is spearheaded by Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang.

‎‎Tulloch attracted attention during his tenure at Meta for being among the highest-paid employees in the technology industry.

‎‎The reason for his departure remains unclear, as does whether he plans to continue his AI research at another company.
