MTN Ghana Chief Digital Officer, Ibrahim Misto, has called for stronger collaboration among filmmakers, broadcasters, content creators, technology providers and investors to build a sustainable digital entertainment ecosystem in Ghana.
He said the launch of MTN One TV provides an opportunity for industry players to work together to expand the reach of local content, attract investment and create new opportunities for Ghanaian talent.
Speaking at the launch of the Pan-African streaming platform, Mr Misto said the future of Ghana’s creative industry would depend on partnerships that connect content creators with audiences and create value for all stakeholders.
“The future of Ghana’s creative industry will be built through collaboration,” he said.
He explained that MTN One TV was designed to bring together local storytelling, live channels, international programming and flexible viewing options while connecting creators, content owners, broadcasters, advertisers and audiences.
According to him, the platform would provide an opportunity for producers and content owners to make their works easier to discover and expand their reach in the digital entertainment market.
Mr Misto said MTN was ready to engage industry stakeholders to understand their challenges, identify opportunities and explore partnerships that could deliver meaningful benefits to creators and consumers.
He stressed that content creators, broadcasters, telecommunications operators, technology providers, regulators and investors all had important roles to play in building a vibrant and competitive creative sector.
Such collaboration, he said, would help attract investment, expand opportunities for local talent and support the development of a sustainable digital ecosystem.
Mr Misto added that the growing demand for quality content accessible anytime, anywhere and on any device made continuous innovation necessary.
He said MTN Ghana remained committed to providing digital solutions, platforms and partnerships that would support the country’s progress and connect people to opportunities within the digital economy.
The launch of MTN One TV forms part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebrations under the theme “30 Years of Progress, Powered by You”.
Mr Misto said the initiative reflects MTN’s broader evolution from a telecommunications company focused on voice and data into a platform business connecting enterprises, startups and wider ecosystems.
He urged stakeholders to seize the opportunity to work together to build a creative industry that is commercially sustainable, internationally competitive and capable of creating lasting value for Ghana.
