Leading money transfer operator to Africa, Taptap Send has announce that money transfers to Ghana are now fully restored, after fruitful and positive engagement with the Bank of Ghana (BoG) regarding the recent pause of its services to Ghana.
The BoG had initially imposed a one-month ban on the remittance services of Taptap Send and seven other regulated financial institutions into Ghana following an alleged breach of forex and money transfer rules.
The pause in the service was supposed to last till October 18, 2025. But after a fruitful engagement between the regulator and the affected institutions, the ban was lifted on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
Taptap Send has since been fully operational and restored its services to Ghana from all destinations.
“Customers can now resume sending money from the UK, Europe, Canada, the USA, and the UAE to their loved ones in Ghana with immediate effect,” a statement from Taptap Send said..
“Taptap Send remains safe, secure, and fully compliant and has taken the opportunity to double down on its commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and excellence in service provision to Ghana and beyond,” the statement added.
The company expressed its deepest and most sincere appreciation to its customers for their patience, love, and continued support in what has been a really difficult time of inconvenience, adding “We love our customers dearly and cannot thank them enough for sticking with us and standing by us through this period. You, our customers, are the reason we’ve been the number one app for sending money to Ghana.”
The statement reassured customers that Taptap Send will continue to work tirelessly to always be there for them, saying “We dey for you!”
“Taptap Send is back. We have missed you and cannot wait to see you on the app again,” the statement added.
