The National Communications Authority (NCA) has hosted a delegation from Norfolk State University in the United States at its headquarters, the NCA Tower in Accra, as part of the university’s international academic exposure programme.
The visit formed part of efforts to provide students with practical insights into communications policy, regulation and governance within Ghana’s telecommunications and broadcasting sectors.
The delegation comprised two faculty members and seven students, who engaged with officials of the Authority to gain a deeper understanding of the institutional and regulatory frameworks that underpin the country’s communications industry.
During the visit, NCA officials outlined the Authority’s mandate, operational structure and regulatory responsibilities, highlighting its role in ensuring an efficient, competitive and secure communications environment in Ghana.
The engagement also offered the students an opportunity to learn about the policy measures, regulatory mechanisms and governance systems that guide the development of the communications sector, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with regulating a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
The NCA noted that such exchanges contribute to international academic collaboration and knowledge-sharing, while promoting a better understanding of Ghana’s regulatory practices among future communications professionals.
The visit reflects the Authority’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives and fostering engagement with academic institutions from across the globe, as Ghana continues to strengthen its position as a key player in the development of communications and digital innovation in Africa.
