MultiChoice Ghana has apologized for “any inconvenience caused” by its recent communication on DStv subscription packages and pricing in Ghana, and declared its full support for and alignment with what government communicated earlier regarding DStv packages.

After weeks of back and forth, on Monday, September 29, 2025, the Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations Minister, Sam George announced at a joint press conference, that Ghanaians will from October 1, 2025, start enjoying better value for less on DStv, ranging from 33% to 50% more for the same price.

Unlike earlier promotions run by MultiChoice on DStv, this new package was flexible – it allows customers to even pay less than they were paying before and still get the value they have always had. That’s new.

The Minister did say that the package is subject to review every quality, the first of which comes on December 31, 2025.

MultiChoice creates confusion

Come October 1, 2025, MultiChoice published a FAQs document on its website, in which it described the package announced by the minister as a promotion which will last till December 31, 2025.

Ghanaians, who had initially received the minister’s announcement well, took to social media and lambasted the minister for deceiving the public because MultiChoice now says the package is nothing but a time-bound promotion.

But now, MultiChoice has put out an official statement apologizing for the wrong impression its FAQs document created, and declaring its full support for and alignment with what for Minister announced earlier.

It stated categorically that “There is no restriction on a subscriber’s choice of a bouquet. This offer is available to both existing, returning and new customers from 1st October 2025.”
