Government committed to welfare of security personnel – Interior Minister assures officers

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare and operational conditions of security personnel under the Ministry.

‎‎Speaking during an engagement with officers of the various security services at the auditorium of Ho Technical University as part of his working visit to the Volta Region, the Minister acknowledged the critical role security personnel play in safeguarding national peace, stability and public safety.

‎‎Mr Muntaka noted that the sacrifices made by officers in the discharge of their duties often come at great personal cost, stressing that their dedication and professionalism remain indispensable to the country’s development.

‎‎He assured the personnel that the government recognises the challenges confronting the security services and is committed to addressing issues relating to their welfare, logistics and working conditions.

‎‎”The welfare of our security personnel remains a priority for government. We appreciate your sacrifices and the crucial role you play in maintaining peace and security across the country,” the Minister stated.

‎‎He further encouraged officers to remain steadfast in the execution of their duties, emphasising the need for discipline, integrity and professionalism in service delivery.

‎‎The interaction formed part of the Minister’s broader visit to the Volta Region to engage with security agencies, assess operational challenges and explore avenues for strengthening the capacity of the services under the ministry.

‎‎The engagement provided an opportunity for officers to share concerns and recommendations aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of security operations and improving service conditions.

‎‎Government has consistently reiterated its commitment to strengthening the country’s security architecture through improved welfare packages, capacity-building initiatives and the provision of modern equipment to the security services.
