Delta Air Lines is celebrating two decades of uninterrupted service connecting Ghana and the United States, a milestone that underscores the airline’s role in strengthening economic, cultural and people-to-people ties between the two nations.

‎The achievement was highlighted by the United States Embassy in Ghana, which commended the airline for its long-standing commitment to enhancing connectivity between Ghana and the US through its daily direct flights between Accra and New York City.

‎‎For the past 20 years, Delta Air Lines has provided a vital air bridge between the two countries, facilitating trade, tourism, investment and family connections. The airline’s daily service has become a key transport link for business travellers, students, tourists and members of the Ghanaian diaspora living in the United States.

‎‎In a further boost to transatlantic connectivity, Delta introduced a seasonal direct service between Accra and Atlanta last year. The additional route has expanded travel options for passengers while creating new opportunities for commerce and investment between Ghana and one of America’s largest business hubs.

‎‎The US Embassy noted that the airline’s continued presence in Ghana reflects the growing partnership between the two countries and supports efforts to deepen economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

‎‎Delta’s investment in the Ghanaian market comes amid increasing demand for direct international air travel and aligns with broader efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and promote economic growth.

‎‎As the airline marks its 20th anniversary in Ghana, stakeholders in both countries are expected to benefit from enhanced connectivity, greater business opportunities and stronger ties fostered through reliable air transport links.
